Baby Einstein Great Barrier Reef Soother Baby Einstein Great Barrier Reef Soother

Reviews

Baby Einstein s the worst musical soother that you could ever give to someone or buy for your child. I received 2 of these so called "soothers" and my daughter is only 6 months old. They don't sooth anyone or anything. The 1st one that I received as a shower gift only played the music but the fish didn't move. The 2nd one I received as a christmas present (09 mind you) and the light part that moves the fish crapped out, now it plays 1/4 of the song and shuts off. Forget the remote, that's a piece of crap too. I am very disappointed with Baby Einstein products. This product didn't even make 6 months, so you really don't get your money's worth. This product isn't the cheapest thing either. So, don't even think about getting this product for anyone that you know that is expecting. It will only make you look bad getting such a crappy toy!!!!!

We love this product when it works. My daughter is entranced by the swimming fish and loves to watch them move. It's a beautiful toy! However, this toy is about 6 months old now and it has started eating batteries (no extra usage from before!) like nobody's business. After maybe 3 or 4 cycles the fish STOP moving and it only lights up. It seems the problem is getting worse as the toy gets older. I contacted Kids II the company to ask for a new product because it is on a year limited warantee. I wish there was a comparable crib soother that had the scrolling fish because she loves it and like another reviewer--there is crisis in our house when the motion doesn't work. Wish I could recommend it but it's a battery eater that gets WORSE as time goes on!

We got this product when my son was about 2 months old. I agree, it goes through batteries quickly. We ended up getting 8 rechargeable C batteries and a good charger. My son is 1 year old now, and we are still using the original rechargeable batteries (we rotate a set of 4 every week). My son loves his fish and it helps him fall asleep at night because it gives him something to watch as he is drifting off. I am currently pregnant again and will be purchasing a second soother for the new baby.

My daughter enjoys this baby einstein soother. The fish look like they are actually swimming. My daughter will not take her nap without this thing on. As soon as I turn it on she smiles. I reccomend this item

Before purchasing, I read reviews on this soother and was worried about the bad reviews that said it stopped working after a short while. Then I saw others who commented on those reviews and stated they just needed to change the batteries as indicated in the directions. I bought this soother sure that I would be happy with it if I did as the others suggested. Well, when it came we took out the batteries that came with it and put the ones as directed. It worked for a few weeks then all of a sudden just wouldn't play or would play but sound creepy. I can't imagine the batteries are dead already (4 C's) when it really wasn't used much and only for a few weeks. I'd say try something else if you're shopping.

Baby Einstein - Baby Van Gogh - World of Colors Baby Einstein - Baby Van Gogh - World of Colors

Reviews

My six month old grandson loves this video. The music makes him laugh and colors really attract his attention. We are purchasing more of these. Also, we purchased these DVD's for our other grandson and he had the same reaction.

When I read negative comments about Baby Einstein videos and how they don't make a child "smarter," I have to laugh. My daughter knew all her colors when she was 16 months old. Yes, she could say them and identify them. That was due ENTIRELY to this video. We didn't think she was old enough to know her colors yet, so we hadn't started teaching them to her. Then, one day, she just starts pointing to objects and saying, "blue" and "red," etc. My child has watched this video dozens of times in the last 9 months or so and never tires of it. She especially likes the character of Vincent, and likes the books with him in them as well. Not only has she learned her colors, she has recognized Van Gogh artwork when we've seen it out in the "real" world. She points at it and starts babbling excitedly. How anyone can criticize this series is beyond me.

My favorite of the Baby Einstein collection. Couples colors with words, music and poetry. I anticipate it will be one my son enjoys for some time to come.

We have a very active 6 month old who constantlty needs stimulation...The Baby Einstein dvd keeps him happy and quiet for a least an hour. He loves it!

Please be aware that the fact is The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that children under two be kept away from screen media. These products are claiming benefits that are utterly unfounded.

Baby Einstein - Discovering Shapes Baby Einstein - Discovering Shapes

Reviews

the video is hit or miss as to whether it will play. Sometimes it will, and often times it won't. It will more likely play on our computer, but that is not convenient for our children to sit around and watch. Otherwise it's a great educational tool I wish we could view more often. We love Baby Einstein.

yet another genius item, my son is only 11 months old and sits down and watches these all the way through, yay, plus he's learning lots

We like this video as with most Baby Einsteins, however, have a problem with the sound on our home stereo system. The sound for music comes out load and clear but the speech for the shapes is very, very quiet. When you want to learn the names, it creates a problem.

We bought this DVD to expand our collection. We have the Old MacDonald Baby Einstein DVD and our son loved it. We liked the fact that these older DVD's teach the words as well as display them. The Shapes DVD is a lot of repetition, but it shows the shapes by themselves as well as in context, i.e., eggs are ovals, balls are cirles. I honestly use videos like this as a chance to get a shower and keep him occupied and happy. Because he is learning the shapes, it gives me an opportunity to quiz him when we are playing, reading books, or at the grocery store. The puppets are always a favorite and my son just laughs at the characters because they are so silly!

My daughter was not very interested after the first time; however, I know other kids who love this video.

Baby Einstein - Baby's Favorite Places - First Words Around Town Baby Einstein - Baby's Favorite Places - First Words Around Town

Reviews

Bought this and a few other Baby Einstein books and DVDs for my little niece. My sister can't believe how quickly she learned from these. Now she is well ahead of the other kids in her age group. Also, her mom likes to have these DVDs just playing in the background instead of regular TV.

I bought this video for a 2 year old who is high energy and slower in speech. I have heard of Baby Einstein, but have not tried it before. The puppets and music is entertaining and she learned some new vocabulary words. My 2 year old is almost 3 so this is more appropriate for her age, but not for younger babies. There are very good vocabulary videos for the almost 3 set like Four Baby Bumblebees and Brainy Yogis: Everyday Words which illustrate the meaning of the words a little clearer. I found getting the Baby Einstein flashcards and board book helpful, too.

As the mom of a toddler, I have found this to be a very helpful learning tool for both of us. This is, as far as I can tell, the third in a series of sign language and verbal skills DVD's. As the title implies, this DVD covers words for places that parents often take their babies and toddlers every day...around town. It teaches words and signs such as bank, library, sidewalk, school, swing, slide, etc. I wouldn't recommend it for a younger baby. We purchased it when our daughter was 20 months and she took right to it. She is now 25 months, and she enjoys the older kids performing the signs, and I as a parent appreciate Marlee Matlin's clear signing directions. I read the critical reviews before purchasing this. If this is your first sign language DVD, I would recommend getting Baby Einstein's "First Signs," which includes simple words like mommy, daddy, baby, cereal, ball, more, all done, etc. Then watch "Baby Wordsworth" which adds words like cat, dog, clock, computer, chair, lamp, etc. Then "First Words Around Town," this DVD. Just like with a movie series, you want to watch the first one before watching the sequels. If you are planning to just turn this on and leave the room, then it probably isn't for you. However, if your goal is to teach your child sign language and verbal skills, while you learn at the same time, this is a great tool. Learn with your child and then reinforce when you are visiting the places around your town. The only reason I didn't give this five stars is that I think the age recommendation should be 18 months and up instead of 12.

We couldn't be more disappointed with this product. The opening credits put us all to sleep. Nana, Mommie, and Baby could not sit through even half of the DVD. Baby Signing Times are delightful, and we assumed this would be better. Boy were we wrong!!

I bought this to help my grandson who could not talk to communicate. It became very frustrating for both of us when he wanted a drink or something to eat. It made it difficult to potty train him. This helped our communication a lot and I would highly recommend it to anyone that has small children with or without speech problems. He still uses some of the signs and his speech has come a long way since.

Drive-In Movie Classics 50 Movie Pack Drive-In Movie Classics 50 Movie Pack

Reviews

Was well done & good video quality. Great Fun for the ex drive-inn crowd. Real nostalgia.

Another 50 pack that is sometimes sent with different movies on it I got this one with no outside cover no Ceepers and no saticfation

First of all, you can't beat the price, but if you're a stickler for quality videos (some of these aren't so good), then you might want to purchase these films separately. Some are quite action-packed and take you back to a more innocent time, when drive-in movies were all over the country. (There were once more than 3000, now there are les than 300). A lot of memories (my teenage kids crack up at some of the slang used "back then"), but a pretty good amount of bang for your buck--especially if you like camp and over-the-top acting. You also get a chance to see some famous actors of today in their embryonic stage of acting. There is some nudity. "Bee Girls" in itself is a hoot and a half, as is "Jive Turkey."

This is another one of those bargain price Mill Creek Entertainment mega packs of public domain or cheaply-licensed films (largely B or C grade). Still, this set is well worth the price you pay if you like film variety or crave light horror/thrillers and/or exploitation flicks. Something about this movie pack of particular importance to archivists and collectors is the fact that if you buy this set, the 50 Chilling Classics set, and the MASSIVE 250 flick HORROR COLLECTION --- you will have nearly 350 different films (whereas all other traditional horror movie packs are almost entirely duplicated inside the 250 pack!). I would like to point out that in my Drive-In Classics set, I had 3 film differences from those in Amazon's list. I have a feeling that Mill Creek occasionally alters their sets if/when they get copyright notices or if they lose licensing rights, or perhaps the Amazon list has always been wrong... Each of 12 disks is double-sided and usually features 2 films a side but a few have 3 films per side. That said, 3 different disks in my set contained different films than listed on Amazon: 3 FILMS I DID NOT RECEIVE: *Mama Dracula *Creepers (PLURAL, it's apparently an alternate name for a Dario Argento film) *Death by Dialogue 3 Non-Amazon-Listed films I RECEIVED INSTEAD (these films ARE listed on my DVD case and the disk sleeves): *Blood Mania *The Devil's Hand *Single Room Furnished I was really looking forward to seeing that film about Drac's mama, but who knows, maybe one of the 3 other films I got will turn out to be an unknown gem? :) Anyone buying this DVD set after me (Nov 2009) should probably expect to get the same films that I received. One final oddity: Being a stickler for details, I decided to compare the movie titles on the case which matched those on the 12 DVD sleeves against those found PRINTED ON THE DVDs THEMSELVES (in center ring) and I discovered the DVDs themselves had SIX ERRORS (the sleeves & case had the correct films). The six films incorrectly printed on the disk center rings were spread across six of the twelve disks! Here they are: 6 FILM TITLES PRINTED ON MY DISKS BUT NOT ACTUALLY PRESENT: *Disk1 B2: Deadly Encounter (actually Creeper) *Disk5 A1: Fatal Error (actually Snowbeast) *Disk7 A2: Patrick (actually Shock) *Disk9 B1: Boogey Man (actually Night Train to Terror) *Disk10 A1: Cockfighter (actually Don't Look in the Basement) *Disk11 A1: Why Shoot the Teacher (actually The Island Monster) What does all this mean? Beats me. Maybe those films are coming soon in a future iteration? Or they were on a past iteration? Or the DVD press somehow screwed up on 50% of the disks? Hmmmmmmmm. Who cares? Just pop the popcorn, get liquored up, and enjoy these cheap crappy flicks.

Summer Infant Ultra Plush Change Pad Cover - White Summer Infant Ultra Plush Change Pad Cover - White

Reviews

This changing pad cover is great - it's soft so that my daughter doesn't mind laying on it naked, it washes well (plenty of poop has been left on it, but simple stain treating has left it as clean as new), and it has held up nicely after 6 months of use so far. Plus, this is a relatively inexpensive one to buy.

Graco 1 Second Ear Thermometer Graco 1 Second Ear Thermometer

Never had consistent readings and there was a sharp blemish in the plastic. I need to contact the manufacturer.

This thermometer registard a temp of 96.5 on my child when they were burning up, I used my other thermometer under the arm that takes several minutes and my child had a temp of 103.6. I have tried this several times and still this one reads much lower. I have read, read and read the instructions and follow to a T and still the same results. Spend more money and get a more reliable one.

Summer Infant Fold N' Store Tub Time Bath Sling Summer Infant Fold N' Store Tub Time Bath Sling

Reviews

This product made it a lot easier to bathe my newborn. Great Quality and easy to use. Good Quality product works great.

i have been using this sling tub since my son was a newborn and he is now over 8 months. it's easily adaptable to fit a growing baby, i think. of course his entire body doesn't fit on it anymore, but it still works well to prop him up in the bathtub. you just have to make adjustments as they grow. i still use it every night and it works great. i have no complaints!

Our current housing is small so we purchased this instead of a infant tub. I like it because it dries quickly and thoroughly unlike the big sponge ones. We also like it because instead of the infant laying flat he is in a reclined position that allows him to see more and he loves being able to kick his feet in the water you can't do that with the sponges. This one also folds for storage making it even smaller. The only thing I would change would be making the mesh with a little more give to cradle the infant a little more and help with the sliding issue (when your baby kicks and moves around they slide down a little) my boy is over 10lbs now and the mesh still doesn't give much and stays straight instead of cradling him.

This was also ordered on suggestion from the yahoo answers site when I was looking for a baby tub. This is very good although I haven't gotten as much use out of it as the baby foam. This works well in the bath if the bath is very shallow. It does not work in the sink as it is too big for most sinks. Overall the quality is good and I suggest this and the green baby bath foam --you could prop this on top of the foam. Our baby has only used this a couple of time but it is fairly practical and since it is mesh it dries quickly.

This has worked great for our baby. It is small and versatile. When he was smaller and less wriggly, I used it in our walk-in shower. I could hold him in the water, and then have a place to put him down to wash him. I also used it in the tub so that we could take a bath together. Now that he's bigger but still can't sit on his own, he lies on the sling in the tub by himself and loves to kick and splash for a long time. He's a big baby and would have quickly outgrown the traditional baby bath tub. When we're done, I just hang it on the tub faucet to dry.

From the Manufacturer The all new Folding Bath Sling is a must-have for space and comfort conscious parents! The first bath sling to completely fold flat for storage, it is also contoured and cradling so baby doesn't slip and slide during bath time.
